a rainy day in school 18th June

it rained all day today..
probably due to the rain in China..

well.. woke up 745am..
and keep dozing off..
hahaha.. in the end.. I woke up at 820am realising Jieyin is gone.
I use my supersonic speed and got down in like 5 mins.
there are no lesson for me today.
but i decide to go school since the rest have lesson and i scare i will fall asleep reading my readings. 
heee..
no umbrella to shelter me to the busstop but luckily i saw Joanna.
she sheltered me over.
and i board the bus to school with the rest
was a cold day..

i settled myself in the comfy lobby in the lecture wing.
very pretty place i must say..
and i slowly finish reading all my notes.
hahaha.. just in time to finish before their lesson.

i was cam-whoring.. while reading..

while waiting.. with my readings and the darn cheap and nice vending machine coffee..

i got this special mode in my cam and i decide to try..

and back to dorm..
nice place to slack..

The day I left for Korea..

Finally.. my room has internet access..

the network personnel is realli good..

GOOD at DELAYING and COCKING UP!!

give him our MAC address for like a few days le and we still cant get our internet!!

and he realise that he copied the wrong one!!

ROAR!

oh well..

at least my port is up.

my IP is settled.

so now..

in this rainy day..

when i should start working on my hmk, i decide to at least finish my first day post for korea!

yeap. SO on the 8th.

I reached the airport at 830pm to meet Jieyin for check-in.

we hang arnd till like 915pm? for Yongjie to arrive before we went in to the departure hall!

yup.. so we decide to hang arnd in dutyfree shop as we were REALLY early.

and we met boi's fren! Taitong!

such a coincidence!

and guess wad!

he and his fren from USP are going Korea too!

the conversation that he and boi had were so farnie..

apparently..

he got himself such a good deal from his prof whose networks are darn good.

there's a free 10 day korea trip porvided by korea embassy and Taitong knows the prof or smth and yeap.. he got himself a free trip! all fully PAID!

such good DEALS..

we were all so envy!!

but we took different airlines..

so we say goodbye after awhile..

went into our gate..

and saw the air stewardess..

gosh! got briefing somemore! and i cant realli understand the big clip on their head.

oh well..

but i must say..

they look realli good.

the plane is good!

i did not experience any discomfort

not like the noraml BUDGET plane that i took!

hahaha..

but boi was having discomfort with his wisdom..

but thank god it was fine already!

oh yah..

the plane food was quite okay..

and i did not catch a wink at all..

nt tired..

i do not know why..

so was talking with boi all the while..

when we are nearing Korea..

boi says we will see land when we leave the last layer of cloud..

damn..

but within seconds we heard jerking sound and the engine is weird..

diao.. scary ok..

tot we are doomed for..

but to our amazement.. it was landing..

so can u imagine the fog?! we cant see a thing! hahaha..

neway, the airport is simple and nice. sort of the same as stolkolm one

saw 2 students outside the arrival gate holding the ICU sign!

She is jicheon. Very pretty skin gal and the guy is jungha

apparently, Jicheon says that Jungil had given her a list that Joanna they all was reaching on tt day today! but we remember that Joanna are coming on the next day. we waited vainly and even made announcement. hahaha.. Jungil ah.. tsk tsk!!

boi in the bus..

the bus ride was like 3 hours..

and we replenish our sleep on the bus towards Daejeon!

along the road.. like HDB right?

stopover for toilet break.. like JB like tt..

we finally reached.. and we took a cab to the school..

it's like 5 min! but it cost 3200 won.

which is like er.. 4plus sing dollars.

carrying a 20 over kg of luggage is not fun at all..

we had so much trouble man!

off to the dorm after the admin!

sad..

we are allocated to a dorm at a far away place! hahaha..

this is ICU!

this is the beautiful dorm which is right beside campus..

but it is not for us..

OH WELL..

took a shuttle bus to the dorm..

the dorm is a nice place!

so european..

but inside..

it is er..

well.. to me.. i think it is okay..

but not tt good!

especially my lan port is spoil!

and no air con.. but lucky the weather in Korea now is better..

Oh yah..

they do have aircon..

but they do not on it..

Korea is a very environmental friendly country..

i must say..

and i salute them for it.

I hope Singapore is like tt.

NO plastic bags for u when u shop at the mall.

if u want.. u need to pay.

if not there are free cardbox for u to put your stuff.

the cardbox are old ones which is used for the packaging of previous stuff..

there are different types of bins.

u have to throw into the correct one!

all for recycling.

n in school.

aircon is not on.. if a certain temp is not reached.

and only for 2 hours.

this is stupid but they made sense..

they are not as hot as us!

giving men the freedom for the controller is harmful to the earth.

our desire is never enuff..

anyhow..

we got use to the no aircon days..

and we are cold for certain nights and days..

Hwa Am Dorm

this is the entrance to the mini store and cafeteria.

the ppl there are realli great.

they are so trustful of the ppl in Korea.

the store do not have a storekeeper.

and money and foodstuff were just placed there.

if u want to buy..

just go to the kitchen where the auntie is cooking and pay them!

Koreans are realli great.

i feel ashamed of Singapore somehow..

the stores will always be supervised to prevent theft.

I wonder we are not trustworthy or the ppl doing business cant trust us.

after unpacking and clean up abit for our room.

we decide to go downtown to buy some stuff and to explore.

afterwhich.. we decide to settle for korean food for dinner..

walk so long and dun see food.

or rather food that we understand.. and not so ex!

the food there are realli expensive!!

well.. somehow.. saw a shop that sells steamboat..

with much difficulty.. we settle in this restaurant.

i do not know whether we are lucky or wad..

one of the staffs knew chinese..

but she dun understand us..

o well..

dun care.. we are comfortably sitted in the restaurant le!

lots of side dishes!
they give us a bowl of rice.. with parsley and raw egg and seaweed

we were unsure of it..

and she kept saying we eat it last..

we realli dun get it.

when we secretly wanted to taste how's it like..

she caught us and say we shouldn't eat..

yup..

and finally we knew the answer..

the rice was used to cook in the remaining soup..

it smells realli good.

but too bad.. the parsley is there..

i and jieyin give it a miss..

boi happily finished it all.. :)

Greetings from Korea!

location: some ICU's study table
status: ALone

first blog from korea.
had been an er.. fun and boring week.
today is the first day of summer school.
but lucky for me, i only had classes on tuesday, thursday and friday.
the rest are now having lessons somewhere in the lecture block and tmr will be my turn!
currently sitting down at this not so bad place waiting for the rest to be done.

I love the weather and the serenity here!
my university is really quite out of town. (sad)
but the environment is not so bad
it's just that its too quiet!!

hahaha..
currently my room in the dorm has no internet so yeap..
that's why the late entry despite the boredom that we got for the past few days.
lucky boi has internet in his room while jieyin and i will just rot in room and chit chat and scare ourselves with our daily EXPENSES! (look at the caps! haha)

blogpost of ICU and my trip to seoul will be up.
just a week and we got tons of photos.
I would say korea is really scenic.
but we have not been to the vavaboom sort of places yet.
am planning.
and hopefully my course would not be that xiong!

exchange is really a good experience.
meet new people,
learn new cultures.
the feeling is the same when i went to the states.
meet new people everyday for the first week.
hanging out with ppl u just met.
and yup..
many had asked me which country do i realli prefer.
for now, i will say it's the states
and given the chance..
i think i will shift to states. to work or to live.
but.. yeap!
GIVEN the chance.
but i knew if i were to go to Europe.
I will love it to bits!
I can imagine myself clinging on to the poles of the airport not very willing to live the country when my visa is up! hahaha

there realli isnt much to see..
seoul..
it's like a shopping district.
daejeon..
it's a dead.. oops! it's a science town..

well, all cities are made to be like that
like singapore..
there isnt realli much things to do and see..
our tour for seoul is like going to end.
as whichever place we went..
ITS shopping!
hahaha..
and whichever place i went..
I EAT!
i am so poor now. :p
i think we have covered seoul somehow

i would consider it as an escapade from all the buzzy city life..

but the korean people i got to know are real nice
and damn chio n shuai!!
u may say its plastic.

ji cheon has the best skin i ever seen and is so sweet.
no makeup or whatsoever.
that's wad we define as natural beauty.
and as for kiuk(jieyin's buddy)
i cant help but say he got the nextdoor guy look.
when i and boi saw him at the stairs.
u know got the sparks!!
it's that fresh looking sia!
btw..
yz got that "sparks" feeling too okay!
he keep telling me.. very handsome!

yup.. i think i am adapting very well to everything here.
the spicy food especially.
i keep eating altho i keep tearing.

i must say i am very excited about my korea trip (sometimes =P)
and my new found coursemate friend and travel mate is too awesome.
she is totally my pattern when it comes to travelling..
i mean ppl like hl.. (oops! i told her tt before)
we are not gam at all in terms of travelling!
hahah..
but i know she is not too bad la.
at least our moneysense linked! (sometimes :p)
so i tell her if we were to go travelling. I will just meet her for dinner and go back hotel!

jieyin and i are similar in the sense that the countries we went are almost the same, not only tt we will fought our way to travel and see more even if it means deficiency of beauty sleep! buahahaha.. i cant wait for our seoul trip to begin!

made me so gian of gg back to usa for work and travel or grad trip
but tt darn fuel is causing me problems of accomplishing this dream

the cost of an airtix is so ridiculous now.. even to travel to a nearby country, i can feel the pinch!
