just got back form gyeongju with the school and i realli enjoyed the trip alot minus the rain and the cold!!

at least i learn something which is useful for the course..
and i will continue it when i am back in NUS.
i shall not complain about NUS workload nemore!!!

today's dorm food is rather er.. not very appetizing..
so we ordered delivery..
lucky we got a chinese Korean race friend.. Hu Xian
we ordered the food..
and guess wad..
the delivery is fast!!
it came within like 20 min.
And the Food is GOOD!!!
AND we got discount.
i will always remember the darn MAC who tell us to wait for 1 hr and 30 min and it is so freaking ex. Which cost as much as what i have today.. but what i have is much nicer!!

the more i travel..
the more i ugly i find my homeland to be..
and they going to charge very road with ERP!

Seoul TRip 1 -- Day 1
sorry.. had been rather busy these few days. But at least i manage to get my first seoul post up! Woke up early in the morning and we catch the shuttle bus to the school to meet Jieyin's buddy. We meeting him at the gate at 9am. but he didnt show up. We asked the security whether we can use their phone to call home and they nicely do the call for us. However, there was no answer. Oh well, so we embark the trip to Seoul on our own. That Jungil tell us take a cab to Daejeon station but it cost 10000 won or so! hahaha.. so we decide to take a bus. Someone told us the last stop will be the station. But we were on the bus for verrrrrrryyyy long and we did not reach our destination. We sit till the interchange and the kind bus uncle realise that we were lost and asked where we were going! He is real nice! he knows little english and he say we can sit in the bus till he made another round and will direct us where to stop! so we sit in the bus for like more than hour.. and finally reached our destination! Daejoen station!!
It was still early and along the street there are many aunties selling vegetables and other food stuff! When we reached the station.. we were approached by a guy asking us whether we are from Singapore. Seriously.. i tot he wanted to ask for direction and we had that "Singaporean" face so that question. BUT it turn out to be kiuk! Jieyin's buddy. The cute guy! hahaha.. he says he was bathing when we called him at the security post and there are 2 gates so he tot it is the backgate! but he is realli cute la. i mean.. if we didnt miss our stop.. we will be long gone.. so will he 痴痴 wait for us? i think he will!! hee.. He is really nice.. he called the other night and made arrangement with us to go to seoul! he says if 4 ppl were to travel together we will get a discounted rate to sit on the ktx! wad a deal. So the initial price was like 22000 like that and we got our tix at 14500 won! we seoul in like 50mins time! fast! it was going at 300+km/hr!!

so when we reached the station.. we went to our hostel. Kiuk called the place and got to know from the people that the place was quite near to Seoul station and we could take a cab over. So off we go! :)
as it is still early for check-in. we put our bag at the reception and went to Insadong! that's a cultural place. Took a subway.. :)
hungry.. it's time for lunch!! :) So kiuk bring us walk a small alley but it turns out to be a short cut. there are many eateries and they are so traditional. or perhaps constructed to be like traditonal. WE went to a place to try. i forgot wad is it. Since we dun know korea.. And we must try all their delicacy. we let him choose! and it is really not bad! we treat kiuk for this meal! =)

isnt the place very traditional?! its v pretty.. And after our dinner we walk around the place.. they are many shops selling souveniors.. And Jieyin bought alot.. make me wonder whether i should buy not. hahaha.. but lucky i din buy.. we found smth cheaper at nandaemun. :p
yeah.. so we walk around. We were looking for handphone too. as in korea, they only support cdma.. we could not just buy a sim card and put it into our phone. It was not cheap.. so we did'nt get any deals. We were realli grateful that Kiuk was here to bring us around. :) but he had an appointment with a friend and he left us at around 2. We went to YMCA to see whether we can replace boi's HI hosteling card or not.
[u see. we did the card in singapore.. with the card, we are able to get discounts for our hostels and also some attraction.. but boi forgot to bring. so we decide to try ymca as STA is located there.]
with alot of difficulty in the building (due to langauge barriers), we left. but the people were realli friendly and helpful. we search the internet and got to know that it is not at ymca but somewhere else. oh well.. boi decide to ask his family to mail it to him! [he got the card le!]
and after which we decide to go myeongdong! it's a fashion street! There's only shopping. but we saw the bustling of the street which is so different from Daejeon. For the first time.. when we see alot of ppl.. we are happy! hahaha..
the streetfood!! yum yum. but they are really spicy!
walk around and then we saw my FAVOURITE! Krispy creme! was still full didnt get anything. but boi get his strawberry shortcake for tmr's breakfast! and guess wad.. they give free donuts to customers. Wanted to buy dozens.. but seriously! hahhaa.. will not be that nice le lor. YUM YUM!!! Seriously.. the donuts in korea are so wonderful.. much wonderful than the weird donuts we have in singapore. GOSH!! heaven!!
they are selling these kind of clothes everywhere! hahaha. so lacy and sweet.. not my kind! after a very short dinner at a eatery.. (food okie only) we decide to go seoul tower!! We took subway to cungmuro and take bus 2 to the top! gosh! when we reached the place. we were shock. hahaha.. we have to walk up!!! Tired sia!! its like so steep.. but when we reached we were really really happy! hahha.. we are really not fit! there are ladies who wore heels and they seem fine and there's a bunch of cyclists cycling up that slope! gosh! pei fu!!
[newae.. in seoul.. i dun think they have the concept of escalator. I mean they do have.. but there isnt alot. especially at the subway there. I wonder how the elderly travel. but i cam to realise.. they are actually very strong!! Before they are out of breath climbing the stairs.. I already am panting like hell. hahahah]

i dunno why there's fountain. but everyone got very excited!

gosh. it was not very cheap to go up. it cost like 7000won. And we din know that our HI card got discount. but oh well.. we realise it too late! but we have fun.. it was like on a tower on top of a mountain! way cool.

the lift will show u how far are we away from the ground! cool. and it's fast! and got guy to press button for ya! hahaha..
at one of the shop at the seoul tower. Teddy bear museum. Will go to Jeju one's at the end of the semester. We were just take a sneak peak of the small shop! so cuddly! and the bear is not very expensive too!! hahaha..
we walked down that slope and took bus 2 back. was so tired from all the walking and decide to take cab home. we cant tahan another round of climbing up slope! [our hostel is on top of the slope too. near the tower.. but way below..]
the place was great and comfy. I had a very good night sleep! :P

School life in ICU
when all of us are complaining how tough it is in NUS..
I sort of missed the freedom and leisure time that we have during the school days.
School in ICU..
is different.
hahaha..
we thought..
ICU was nothing..
but now..
maybe it is something!
I am lucky. I suppose
As in..
I got a good lecturer but he is notorious for homework.
haha..
now my programming hmk is coming..
hope i can get over with the ordeal..
project wise i am not that scare as we are forming groups with postgraduate students.
but still.. =.=
I hope all goes well.. i do not want to go back nus and slog for the same mod again!
the past week is exciting.
went to Seoul again!
and did alot of fun stuff with the rest of the ISP mates.
i would say the world is small..
joanna was in my english class and i could not rmb her face
but she could remember me! haha.. because of my cast.

the world is really small.
it is like jieyin's buddy n my buddy went together to the States for exchange.
we are like connected somehow or rather.
We did many cool stuff..
like going to the da chang jin studio and we dressed up and took tons of pictures.
will show it when i have the time to collate n upload!
got to do doctor fish which is so cheap in Korea compared to singapore.
I did not do doctor fish
or rather.. I let a fish bite me and that's the end of my whole therapic session.
just one bite.
just one scream.
I just sit there for the rest of the session looking at fishes biting my freinds feet!
hahaha..
did not go to the coffeeprince cafe.
too tired and not much of an interest.
would want to go to that giuy's house but it is so inaccessible..
however, joanna and evan made it to the cafe.
they were rather disappointed as the place is quite old and they cordoned off some areas.
at least that sunflower wall is there.. but still..
hahaha.. I will get the pics from them and mayb u all can see!!
i love my korean class.. too bad it cant be map back. my teacher is so cute.
jieyin took a video of our lesson and i will put it up to show you all.
hahah..
how i wished i am here for this course only.
but i know i cant.
anyway..
nus dun allow me to map back and they are offering korean next semester.
SERIOUSLY!!
what's wrong with the faculty.
the rules are different for different faculty.
oh well..
if they dun allow, i will just take the korean class next semester.
in any case..
i have learnt it somehow or rather. :)
love the food here.
tho spicy.
but seriously..
kimchi makes u thin.
i eat alot..
but there is no substantial weight increase for the past few days..
and i highly suspect that i have grown thinner!
hahaha.. :p
going off to another state this weekend. hope it will be fun!
school seems like it is going to end.
oh gosh.

a rainy day in school 18th June
it rained all day today..
probably due to the rain in China..
well.. woke up 745am..
and keep dozing off..
hahaha.. in the end.. I woke up at 820am realising Jieyin is gone.
I use my supersonic speed and got down in like 5 mins.
there are no lesson for me today.
but i decide to go school since the rest have lesson and i scare i will fall asleep reading my readings.
heee..
no umbrella to shelter me to the busstop but luckily i saw Joanna.
she sheltered me over.
and i board the bus to school with the rest
was a cold day..
i settled myself in the comfy lobby in the lecture wing.
very pretty place i must say..

hahaha.. just in time to finish before their lesson.
i was cam-whoring.. while reading..

while waiting.. with my readings and the darn cheap and nice vending machine coffee..
i got this special mode in my cam and i decide to try..

The day I left for Korea..
Finally.. my room has internet access..
the network personnel is realli good..
GOOD at DELAYING and COCKING UP!!
give him our MAC address for like a few days le and we still cant get our internet!!
and he realise that he copied the wrong one!!
ROAR!
oh well..
at least my port is up.
my IP is settled.
so now..
in this rainy day..
when i should start working on my hmk, i decide to at least finish my first day post for korea!
yeap. SO on the 8th.
I reached the airport at 830pm to meet Jieyin for check-in.

but to our amazement.. it was landing..
so can u imagine the fog?! we cant see a thing! hahaha..
neway, the airport is simple and nice. sort of the same as stolkolm one

apparently, Jicheon says that Jungil had given her a list that Joanna they all was reaching on tt day today! but we remember that Joanna are coming on the next day. we waited vainly and even made announcement. hahaha.. Jungil ah.. tsk tsk!!

the dorm is a nice place!

well.. to me.. i think it is okay..
but not tt good!
especially my lan port is spoil!
and no air con.. but lucky the weather in Korea now is better..
Oh yah..
they do have aircon..
but they do not on it..
Korea is a very environmental friendly country..

and i salute them for it.
I hope Singapore is like tt.
NO plastic bags for u when u shop at the mall.
if u want.. u need to pay.
if not there are free cardbox for u to put your stuff.
the cardbox are old ones which is used for the packaging of previous stuff..
there are different types of bins.
u have to throw into the correct one!
all for recycling.
n in school.
aircon is not on.. if a certain temp is not reached.
and only for 2 hours.
this is stupid but they made sense..
they are not as hot as us!
giving men the freedom for the controller is harmful to the earth.
our desire is never enuff..
anyhow..
we got use to the no aircon days..
and we are cold for certain nights and days..

this is the entrance to the mini store and cafeteria.
the ppl there are realli great.
they are so trustful of the ppl in Korea.
the store do not have a storekeeper.
and money and foodstuff were just placed there.
if u want to buy..
just go to the kitchen where the auntie is cooking and pay them!
Koreans are realli great.
i feel ashamed of Singapore somehow..
the stores will always be supervised to prevent theft.
I wonder we are not trustworthy or the ppl doing business cant trust us.

afterwhich.. we decide to settle for korean food for dinner..
walk so long and dun see food.

well.. somehow.. saw a shop that sells steamboat..
with much difficulty.. we settle in this restaurant.
i do not know whether we are lucky or wad..
one of the staffs knew chinese..
but she dun understand us..

they give us a bowl of rice.. with parsley and raw egg and seaweed
we were unsure of it..
and she kept saying we eat it last..
we realli dun get it.
when we secretly wanted to taste how's it like..
she caught us and say we shouldn't eat..
yup..
and finally we knew the answer..
the rice was used to cook in the remaining soup..
it smells realli good.
but too bad.. the parsley is there..
i and jieyin give it a miss..
boi happily finished it all.. :)
