1st post in 1105
this is the first entry i did for my 1105 blog..
vv long..
i think i is crazy..
but i think it is vv true..
we man..
are begining to lost our directions in searching for the simple things in life..

first, blog entry in this blog. weird.
but then again. this week, i attended 2 lectures that shows video on two very different things. One is abt ICT, for CS1105 and another one is for Japanese studies. One is about technology, one is about life. it got me into thinking after watching these vid.
well, for the CS1105 video. I feel that the video keeps on emphasizing how wonderful all these technology is going to be in the future but i would beg to differ. the use of technology improving our lifestyle may be great but do the people ever thought of the underlying problems that will arise?
Just some random thoughts after watching..
1) life is great with technology. But it is great to the people who have the money to buy and use the technology mention or to the whole mankind?
i seriously feel that this will arise more discrimmination and also social caste system will arise. Some people will be deprive of something. The world may not be as wonderful as what te scientist had thought it will be.
2) do all man has the knowledge of handling these techology?
3) so in the end, who is controlling who? we, men, controlling the techology or the technology controlling our daily life?
sadly, to say. i am being controlled by the technology around me. i cant leave my laptop. i cant leave my electronics. and i am dependent on all of them. i still remember the times when i am in JC. Everybody is so dependent on the calculator, even the simplest sum like 9 X 8, we have to turn to the calculator. And then the impact of how important the calculator is to us, when we are dumbfounded by the slow reaction we have when we are ask a simple maths qns without the use of calculator.
Just like laptop. It is really a good invention. Making things easier n more convenient. All the work is done there. And believe me, when it crashed, so is your world. it is really a scary thought that, now, technology is something we cannot live without and is slowly controlling our lives.
So can u imagine the future with all the good robots and technology to make our life easier than before?? It's a good thought.. but i would rather that there is technology that will benefit the whole mankind as a WHOLE. Where no one is being excluded. But that would be difficult isn't it. Considering the fact of the opportunities that are given to different people around the world. The world is really unfair.
~side track a abit: i heard before this story. It's about if we distribute the money equally to everybody in the world. It will take less than a decade for the clever businessman to earn all the money and result the world into the current situation right now.. where the poor is really poor and the rich is really rich!~
from the video, we see that people get to choose the baby they like. the place they like to go to be right before their eyes. Well, good thought. but i hate it. That technology shown had ripped us of the most basic thing in life. The beauty of simplicity. It's wonderful to be able to see something you wanted to see from a country. But wouldn't it be better for you to go to the country yourself and experience the REAL beauty of the country. Having that technology, will only made people lazy and lost the sense of being adventurous. The baby.. having to choose your baby is fun! you get the best out of the best. But is it what your baby wants? Why do you have to decide for them what they need to be when they grow up? What happens to those baby who are born naturally with no good features or brain? Are they going to be the outcast? What will happen in the near future? More fighting of whose baby is the best? More argument of whose the best of the best. Is it going to be a better world or worse?

Well, it is this simple stuff in life that i really feel that technology really cant bring it to the mankind. Technology, somehow, seperate us mankind. It someone made us anti-social and forget about the little n simple beautiful things that we had in the world.

den my mama see me.. she says," i can see everything!" i super duper stress.. 'cos the top vv 透明!~ grab a tube n wear it.. but no time to care abt the bottom.. and den i left for school!

well, the serving is big for one person lar.. lucky we alwaz share our food! oh yeah.. me n shan got a conclusion.. As we get older.. we simply cant satisfy our needs. think of the times when we r small n we celebrate our bday with frens in cartel n swenson.. do u feel awesome @ tt point in time? but wad abt now.. if u plan for a celebration, i dun think tt will be the first few restaurants tt come into mind. You are now looking for a place with good ambience n good food n price. vv chim.. u made life difficult for yrself.. giving yrself stress!! but hey.. tt's life. u never get enuff of anything. :)
and den.. we decide to go take neoprint. they say when i am in states.. they went out they will always have smth to rmb me. hahahaha.. like have one more straw(in memory of ah loo) n one fine day.. they went to took neoprint.. n they draw a shit to represent me.. *shake head* hahaha.. so we decide to take another neoprint.. with the four of us! :)

First day of school..
feels weird to go back school on Monday..
Friends are all toking abt the freshies they know..
hahaha.. and i dunno even one freshies.
There's so many chances in school.
but there's one thing tt never change.
Friends.
They still give u the fun, laughter and warmth.
Been missing for like 2 months.
But they are still the same..
so crappy..
so happening..
never failed to fill me up with the juicy gossips in their life.

School is fun.
Lessons are boring..

hahaha.. but i never cut it real short lar.. i just keep the length n trim my fringe and got lots n lots of layer! hahaha.. tot i will pass time at the salon till my sistaz come.. budden again.. hai~ when i am done they are not here yet.. so i decide to sleep.
My gosh.. 2 months without my lovely bed! it was such a comfy sleep!
okie.. and so my sistaz came over for dinner..
MISS lao niang you qian hua-s.. decide to treat moi n Ching. cos they earn quite alot! hahaha..
eat the zhi cha near my house.. vv cheap de lor tt one.. but no matter how cheap that dinner was, it was still sumptious and wonderful! love the company! thanks~~
oh yeah.. and we decide to have a "pool party".. just two slice of cakes n 2 bottles of alcohols. damn.. was so tired. n with the vodka n margaritta.. my whole body was DRAINED. sistaz left arnd 10 and tt was the time i konked out.. was super duper tired..

The tired n abit drunk moi..

New York
Have been back for some time..
dun feel like blogging.. but today.. i got the FEEL again..
shall tell u about my remaining days in States..
exciting sia~
oh the day to leave for NYC..
did i mention i left camp on Sunday and stay over at my secret buddy's house..
well.. lazy to back track.. so shall write again..
dun get bore! :p
well, went to Cricket's house with Juli, Summer, Nuts, Bubbles..
her house is big lar.. (well to do family)
guess wad we had for dinner..
hahaha.. Ribeye Steak.. IMAGINE THAT!!! and sweet corns!!!
IOWA SWEET CORN SIA~~
vv sweet de.. is like.. HEAVEN! hahaha..
we also had pasta n salads..
but u all should know wad i choose lar.. hahaha
well.. after dinner..
we slack around..
and Juli offered to do pedicure for moi.. so touched.. i am gg to miss her..

hahaha.. was suppose to leave at 8 to the airport.. but dunno why.. we were like still slowly doing things! hahaha.. i think everybody knows.. we are not late.. we still can enjoy the remaining times together..
well, in the car.. i cant find my tickets.. which freak me out..
i remember seeing it when i pack my bag to Cricket's house! hahah..

but then at the airport.. they only ask for my last name and i got check in.. so that's okie!
well, the tickets is like online printout.. e-tickets..
plane there was okie..
but the journey to hostel was terrible..
roar.. 3 girls.. with like 6 lugguage? well.. it does'nt matter.. we took bus.. and it is a looooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggg trip! and it is so heavy!!
well.. at least we reach hostel! hahaha
the girls decide to sleep n i decide to walk around the neighbourhood!
and we had dinner @ a chinese restaurant! woohoo..
the next day!
we had evaluation to do.. did get our paycheck BUT cant cash out.. sad!
tt manager not in.. den we went to eat indian..

and we walk to lincoln centre to watch a band performance! woohoo~ and went with Nat to Columbia university to meet her fren~
lastly, went to times square alone to shop for souvenior!
it's so cool.. i met bluey, flick and musique in one shop..
i head back.. alight at street 86th.
and walk down to 88th(where i live)..
got panic when i realise the things around me is SO SO SO 陌生！
den i realise.. i am on the wrong place.. i am at Amsterdam avenue...
the worst thing is that i forgot where is my hostel..
den i try to think of all the names of the street.
hahaha.. lucky my old mem did not fail me.. is columbus avenue..
and i reach my hostel at around 11pm. heng ah..
third day: (this is the exciting one!!)
okie.. we got a bg plan.
we went to lincoln centre(which is like esplanade) to watch a dance performance..
den we went to Chinatown by subway..
den from Chinatown we walk down to little italy
den we walk down to Soho.. and walk n walk..
and den we took a train down to a pier 17.. quite pretty.
from there u can see the brooklyn bridge..
is WOW lar..
hahaha.. den i think we walk down to WTC site and den went to century 21 to shop(its a mall with all branded goods selling at knockdown price!)
hahaha.. and den we headback to hostel.. we are meeting juli n summer tmr morning!
last day:
we packed.. and got to the office.. but no one is there. so we put down our stuff at the basement and den leave to meet juli they all.. hahah.. they live in Queens! so far.. but they coming down to Mahattan to meet us. that's so nice.. we walk arnd.. eat chinese n they left.. and i and Nat.. slack awhile.. till 5 plus and the shuttle is here to pick us up at the airport!
okie.. story of airport n at plane!!! hai~ -.-''
on thursday, USA airport are banning any liquid stuff in your hand carry. Liquid stuff includes moisturizer, lotion, medicine, water, etc etc. Cause they caught a terrorist trying to blow up a plane in the middle of the sky with dunno wad liquid. ROAR! my handcarry hor.. got liquour for my ah gong lea.. stress.. den my fren and i had to like shift everything in our hand carry to those the luggage that we wan to check in. imagine my liquor.. where got place?? den we change n change n change den finally i got everythng done. i nearly threw that red wine away. lucky dun have! den hor never mind. when we go for check in. they tell me only can check in 2 luggage n i got 3 to check in. i can have 2 handcarry but each cannot exceed 7-8kg. roar.. cannot lor.. if not i have to pay 149us bucks for the extra luggage. NOBODY TELLS ME THAT! hahaha.. den lucky the nice guy help me figure out. i will check in three and help my fren carry her small luggage but we need to take out things so it wun exceed the weight. and we need to take out all the lotion stuffs n all lo.. vv super duper mafan! the guy vv nice.. i know it still exceeds the max weight.. he still let me bring up the plane! hahahah
den hor.. not finish lea.. when we give him the tickets. They cant find our names on the list of passengers! roar~ we call like dozen of times to make sure and still there isn't any of our names. but the strange thing is our flight from malaysia to singapore is cfmed. lucky, got seats den we go in. vv stress de lor!!!!!!!! hahahaha.. yeah.. and this is my happpening story.. vv happening right. and i tot i gg to die on the plane.. 'cos the turbulance is so scary.. i freeze there n did not move.. and it goes on for like 5 min. vv scary like seating on roller coaster. hahaha.. in the end, i did not die but got motion sickness.. stress!!!!! felt like throwing out but also cannot...
yeah.. and i land in Singapore, safe and sound @ 9 am.. yeah~

we had evaluation to do.. did get our paycheck BUT cant cash out.. sad!

i went to the zoo..
so small lo. tt zoo.. hahha.. i and Nat like took 1 hr finish liao..
and we walk to lincoln centre to watch a band performance! woohoo~ and went with Nat to Columbia university to meet her fren~
lastly, went to times square alone to shop for souvenior!
it's so cool.. i met bluey, flick and musique in one shop..
i head back.. alight at street 86th.
and walk down to 88th(where i live)..
got panic when i realise the things around me is SO SO SO 陌生！
den i realise.. i am on the wrong place.. i am at Amsterdam avenue...
the worst thing is that i forgot where is my hostel..
den i try to think of all the names of the street.
hahaha.. lucky my old mem did not fail me.. is columbus avenue..
and i reach my hostel at around 11pm. heng ah..
third day: (this is the exciting one!!)
okie.. we got a bg plan.
we went to lincoln centre(which is like esplanade) to watch a dance performance..
den we went to Chinatown by subway..
den from Chinatown we walk down to little italy
den we walk down to Soho.. and walk n walk..
and den we took a train down to a pier 17.. quite pretty.
from there u can see the brooklyn bridge..
is WOW lar..
hahaha.. den i think we walk down to WTC site and den went to century 21 to shop(its a mall with all branded goods selling at knockdown price!)
hahaha.. and den we headback to hostel.. we are meeting juli n summer tmr morning!
last day:
we packed.. and got to the office.. but no one is there. so we put down our stuff at the basement and den leave to meet juli they all.. hahah.. they live in Queens! so far.. but they coming down to Mahattan to meet us. that's so nice.. we walk arnd.. eat chinese n they left.. and i and Nat.. slack awhile.. till 5 plus and the shuttle is here to pick us up at the airport!
okie.. story of airport n at plane!!! hai~ -.-''
on thursday, USA airport are banning any liquid stuff in your hand carry. Liquid stuff includes moisturizer, lotion, medicine, water, etc etc. Cause they caught a terrorist trying to blow up a plane in the middle of the sky with dunno wad liquid. ROAR! my handcarry hor.. got liquour for my ah gong lea.. stress.. den my fren and i had to like shift everything in our hand carry to those the luggage that we wan to check in. imagine my liquor.. where got place?? den we change n change n change den finally i got everythng done. i nearly threw that red wine away. lucky dun have! den hor never mind. when we go for check in. they tell me only can check in 2 luggage n i got 3 to check in. i can have 2 handcarry but each cannot exceed 7-8kg. roar.. cannot lor.. if not i have to pay 149us bucks for the extra luggage. NOBODY TELLS ME THAT! hahaha.. den lucky the nice guy help me figure out. i will check in three and help my fren carry her small luggage but we need to take out things so it wun exceed the weight. and we need to take out all the lotion stuffs n all lo.. vv super duper mafan! the guy vv nice.. i know it still exceeds the max weight.. he still let me bring up the plane! hahahah
den hor.. not finish lea.. when we give him the tickets. They cant find our names on the list of passengers! roar~ we call like dozen of times to make sure and still there isn't any of our names. but the strange thing is our flight from malaysia to singapore is cfmed. lucky, got seats den we go in. vv stress de lor!!!!!!!! hahahaha.. yeah.. and this is my happpening story.. vv happening right. and i tot i gg to die on the plane.. 'cos the turbulance is so scary.. i freeze there n did not move.. and it goes on for like 5 min. vv scary like seating on roller coaster. hahaha.. in the end, i did not die but got motion sickness.. stress!!!!! felt like throwing out but also cannot...
yeah.. and i land in Singapore, safe and sound @ 9 am.. yeah~

last few days of camp..
after the girls lefton friday..
we counselors is on busy mode!!!
vv busy!!!
hahaha.. we got to clean all pots and cast iron.. so after dinner we got a cleaning party..
clean out all the soot and stuff.. and oiling the cast iron!
after the cleaning i stay behind for the final night committee meeting..
so cool.. it is sort of like grammy awards style! hahaha.. but vv camp-ing lar.. got alot of ideas.. and we made up songs n grace.. vv excited. and vv tired too..
on sat.. wake up.. is another round of cleaning up the camp. Got to do inventory check aorund the units! not easy sia~ hahaha.. den got some discussion and evaluation n more cleaning again.. and den got to decorate the dining hall.. it is super duper pretty.. i is really mesmerised!! hahaha.. i love it! and the campfire.. hahaha.. tho it is super late when we got there. quite nice! oh yeah.. and i know who is my secret buddy!!!! she is QUIBS! the nanny for maren! cool~ she is so nice give me so many things!! i love her!
well.. sunday.. cleaning n more cleaning.. and it storms in the morning.. vv wonderful.. hai~ hahaha.. stuck in the shower house for a while.. but its ok lar.. no campers so not tt scary.. nobody care lor.. hahaha.. ppl even sleepin.. cos the weather is nice!
clean clean clean and at arnd 5 we left for cricket's house!
argh.. will miss camp.. thank you for letting me grow and learn so much! it's been an awesome summer! i will miss everybody!

well, cricket is so nice.. she brings moi, Nuts, bubbles, juli n summer home. her parents are so nice too.. oh.. they are super duper nice lar.. her house is really pretty.. vv chio.. its like hotel! haaha.. and her dad cook ribeye steak for us, with iowa sweet corn n pasta n salad! cool.. its so nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! okie.. sorry.. finally got to eat something not process and got to eat iowa's sweet corn so i am vv happy.. we shower.. talk and juli did a pedicure for me.. she is so li hai lar.. she did for me, nuts n bubbles! hahaha.. she really can open shop! is french pedi wor.. mai siao siao..
den went to sleep in a comfy bed! i am missing my bed like hell~
oh yeah.. in the morning.. cricket send us to the airport.. on the way.. i stress lea.. i cant find my tickets slip. vv stress.. lucky at the airport they only need my last name and nothing else~~ hahaha.. but anohter thing is tt i only can check in 2 suitcase.. but i got 3!!!! so had to carry one with moi~ vv saddening! i need to transit plane also.. tsk!!! but overall the flight was ok~ :)
well.. now i am in nyc now.. will update u about my nyc trip.. when i am back in Singapore~~ i am so broke now! hahahah

wet and wild
well.. this is my last program.
and it is the one i wanted to have.. y? cos this program got to go out of camp. i is so freaking excited when i got this program. this is my number one wish list. the last week, i'm woking with speedy! she is really zai.. working with her is breeze.. hahaha.. the week past by quickly! vv qing song.. and we did so many things. Speedy really got a lot of ideas when working with kids. badge work does not seems boring.. but in some cases.. vv interesting. We did things like set up our own restaurant and the program team was so nice.. they make the dining hall into a real cafe. got music, bouncer and also waitress and last of all.. they go print out the receipt for all table.. it is so damn cool. the kids love it alot.
wet and wild means swmming.. quartz got to teach the kids to swim and stuff. but all the kids are like pro in swimming. hahaha.. and guess wad.. lucky my group is wet n wild. the weather is terrible.. SO FREAKING HOT.. and lucky for me.. i got to go to pool sometimes with the kids to cool off.. and shower is something that everybody is looking forward to. wow.. den the trip is so damn cool..
we went to breakwaters to watch water ski show.. dun think it is nothing.. they are skiing on barefoot k.. they do alot of stunts.. i am so amazed. and some of the skiers are young kids and elderly.. u should see their spirit! i salute u! make me wanna find my talent too..
wow.. and when it got too hot.. it storms.. fun! got to sleep in bathroom again. And guess wad.. i got 2 cookouts today! yeah~ love cookout. with speedy arnd.. fire is nothing! hahahaha.. and i love the campfire.. the skits are so farnie!!!
